There are seven Astro Turf Hockey Ground in Jharkhand for Hockey Players.
This stadium is home ground situated in Ranchi Jharkhand. It is located in Morabadi in Ranchi and has a capacity of approximately 5000. Initially built in 1990 then subsequently renovated on 25/07/1992 by the then Chief Minister Sri Laloo Prasad Yadav. It is believed to be the newest and best stadium in India. It was inaugurated on 29/08/2009 by then Governor of Jharkhand K Sankaranarayanan as a prelude to the 34th National Games scheduled to be organized in Jharkhand The stadium was constructed at a cost of around Rs 7 crore and imported from Germany. It has a floodlight facility for day and night matches, a huge screen for live telecast of events and an electronic score board. The astro turf has been continuous utilizing for International matches (HIL) and so many other national tournaments.
This Astro Turf Hockey Ground is situated at Govt. Girls High School Bariyatu, Ranchi (Jharkhand). This Hockey ground was very old and recently converted into Astro Turf in 2019. This ground is being utilizes for training and state & national level match. More than 35 Hockey Women Players are international from this ground. The history of this ground is excellent in term of producing women international player.
South Eastern Railway Sports Association (SERSA) Stadium was very old and further renovated with astro turf in the year 2017-18. This Astro Turf stadium is mostly used by Railway Hockey Players. Construction of this ground is excellent and any kind of national & international maches may be organized in this ground . further development of excellent is under process.
Astro Turf Hockey Stadium, Khunti is situated near sports hostel Khunti. This Hockey ground was very old and converted into Astro Turf in 2007-08. This ground is being utilizes for training & upto National Tournament purpose. The history of this ground is unparallel. So many National/International and Olympian has taken the guard on from this ground.
This Hockey Stadium is situated under SS Balika High School Simdega. This Turf come into existence in 2015. This Hockey ground is nursery of Jharkhand in term of producing hockey player. This ground is very suitable for organizing state & nation level competition. This Hockey ground is witness to produce so many National and International hockey players in Jharkhand.
This Hockey Stadium is situated under St. Ignasius High School Gumla. This Turf come into existence in 2009-2010. This Hockey ground is witness to produce so many National and International hockey players in Jharkhand.
The Naval Tata Hockey Academy brings world-class facilities, including an FIH global quality artificial turf with floodlights, international coaches, a nutritionist, and mental and physical trainers to provide high performance hockey training, to begin with, to 26 boys from bastis and villages of Simdega, Khunti and West Singhbhum districts. This first batch of players have been selected after one year of rigorous training provided by Dutch coaches and Indian hockey legend, Sandeep Singh.
Through this, for the first time in India, a structured, high-quality international level training is being provided at the grassroots level, including playing on artificial turf, truly professionalizing hockey at the grassroots.
In due course, the Academy is slated to similarly train and select 26 girls from Jharkhand and transform them into hockey stars of tomorrow.
